There's a new nail trend in town that's knocking the jade green of last season off the top spot.

Celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Karen O are loving the matte velvety effect of matte nails right now, which gives nails an edgy but groomed look.

London A-list salon Neville's is leading the way on the matte nail trend with a special matte manicure.

The salon offers a mani or pedi with a hand massage and matte polish, which is a bit like a textured varnish but it settles smooth and matte, £40.

If you fancy doing it yourself, OPI have a new range of suede textured nail colours, which leave a rich, matte finish. The OPI Suede range has six shades, £9.95 each.
