Lady Gaga goes back to her roots for new album

Lady Gaga has gone back to her roots - hair wise that is - for new album, The Fame Monster.

Ditching her signature platinum locks, Gaga poses with a long dark 'do for the new release, which is a bumper update on her debut best-seller, The Fame. The black and white shot shows the singer with black liner tears streaming down one side of her face. 

True her real tresses, Gaga is a natural brunette, but shot to fame after reaching for the dye bottle.

But the light locks aren't gone for good. The album will feature multiple covers, and in another she wears a more typical sharp blonde wig.

Meanwhile the Lady had a busy weekend, and performed a version of John Lennon's Imagine at a dinner ahead of Sunday's National Equality March in Washington. Taking to the stage, she gave an impassioned speech on treating everyone equally - no matter what their sexuality - before breaking into the below performance:
