£3 cream tops the anti-ageing charts

Simple replenishing moisturiser - Beauty News - Marie Claire

Ladies, get ready for a stampede. First experts tipped No7's Protect & Perfect as the ultimate wrinkle buster, and now a £3 budget cream has topped the charts as the ultimate budget anti-ageing buy.

Consumer group Which? conducted the survey, and declared Simple's £3.21 Kind to Skin replenishing moisturiser as effective as rivals costing 60 times as much.

In fact, it was named more effective than a host of expensive alternatives, even though it was the cheapest product to make the list.

Outperforming an array of big brands, Which? tested twelve chosen creams over a six-week period. A panel of women, aged 35 to 65 used the cream daily, then their effects analysed by a panel of experts, who compared before-and-after high definition photos of their skin.

Neither the women, nor the analysts, knew which moisturisers the testers had been using, to ensure impartial results.

The title of best overall cream went to Nivea Visage Anti-Wrinkle Q10 Plus Eye Cream, which comes in at a still very affordable £9.99

A Which? spokesman commented: 'On average, the creams showed only slight wrinkle improvement at best. The cost of an anti-wrinkle eye cream is no indicator of effectiveness. We found none of the creams worked on all of our testers, but the Simple moisturiser worked just as well as more expensive creams.'

If the Perfect & Protect effect is anything to go by, expect Simple's wonder cream to be causing a nationwide beauty stampede! Stock up now ladies, or miss out!

I've tried and tested SO many beauty products and always come back to Simple. Such a fantastic brand. I've got problem skin and it flares up whenever I use anything else. Well done Simple!

Has anyone tried 100% pure emu oil, the only moisturiser that obsorbeses into the skin, if so, what effect did it have, and how long have you been applying it.

This does not suprise me as I think you pay for the name and packaging on some creams. well done simple for keeping it simple.

Excellent news! I already use this moisturiser and am a big fan :) I also swear by their cleansing wipes for make-up removal (although they now seem to have brought back their legendary cream eye make-up remover so I shall be torn)

I have been using Siana anti winkle day & night cream and Lacura eye cream all from Aldi all I can say is fantastic, same results as more expensive creams at a fraction of the cost

I've also been using the Simple range for about a year now. I swapped from No 7 Protect range as it caused my sensitive skin to flare up. I am only hoping that I can still get my Simple cream ok and it will not "fly off the shelves" - in fact I think I might pop down to my local chemist and get 6 months supply!

I don't think it has any SPF, if so then it is does not provide the most basic protection against ageing. You might not see any effect from wearing SPF in a few weeks, but you certainly will long term, and an SPF is usually why you pay more for a moisturiser (not saying that the expensive ones are better, just that you need any moisturiser to have SPF)

Well if it was the same panel who recommended the Perfect & Protect i'll save my money now!

Since reading the aritcle I have tried several of the Simple products and all are very nice. I love the body wash and Night Cream. The day cream leaves my skin to shinny, but it feels good.
