Katie Holmes' £30,000 makeover
When Katie Holmes stepped out in Tokyo for the premiere of Valkyrie, you couldn't deny that she was looking her radiant best. But looking your best, the Hollywood way, clearly comes at a price.
America's InTouch magazine has reported that Mrs Cruise's transformation came courtesy of a professional beauty squad, who created her dazzling premiere style with £30,000 of plucking, preening and pampering.
Holing herself up at the Ritz-Carlton hotel for two days straight, Holmes enlisted the help of a hairstylist, who provided her with £2,000 worth of extensions, indulged in £7,000 of spa treatments, spent £20,000 on dental veneers and a further £1,000 on her flawless make-up.
It may have come at a hefty cost, but the transformation silenced Holmes's critics, who've been quick to comment on her recent tired appearance, reportedly the result of a strict Scientology detox.
The purificiation diet that Katie supposedly has been following is a cleanse to prepare the body for having a second child.
And what's £30,000 for some good press? A source revealed the actress was thrilled with the results, 'She was happier than she's been in months.'

Ludicrous. Every time I read about these 'stars' throwing away such vast amounts of money to look good, I feel nothing but repulsion. Are we mere mortals meant to give them a standing ovation or something? A grand for make-up, £7,000 for spa treatments...it's vile...and so are they.

Bet she would have looked radient had she spent nothing at all but used what she already had. Maybe giving the rest to charity would have given her an extra special glow.

Apparently Tom was on that detox diet as well. He's looking distinctly Lyle Lovett-esque.

She needs to dump Tom and go back to the down-to-earth likable girl she use to be. I'm sure if she was in her right mind she'd be ashamed at spending 30,000 on an un-needed makeover.

I think it's pathetic, anyone could pull off that look for a lot less!!
That money could've been spent on something much more useful or helpful than a makeover.

WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY - SHE LOOKS FINE WITHOUT SPENDING ALL THAT. A CLASSIC CASE OF 'MORE MONEY THAN SENSE.
THEY COULD HAVE GIVEN ALL THAT SPARE CASH TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS THE BASICS.
WHAT 'PRICE IS VANITY'. AND WHAT A LOAD OF BULL - WHAT RELIGION SAYS THAT YOU HAVE TO CLEAN YOUR BODY INSIDE BEFORE YOU HAVE ANOTHER KID!
DO SANE PEOPLE ACTUALLY TAKE NOTICE OF THIS SILLY PEOPLE.
