Aniston: Most expensive hair ever?

By Lucy Hutchings  on Wednesday 4 March 2009

Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson - Marley & Me photocall

With one of the most envied hairstyles in the world, it's no surprise to hear that Jennifer Aniston splashes some serious cash on her luscious locks. That is until you hear her latest hair bill: a whopping £40,000!

The actress, currently promoting new movie Marley & Me, has been rocking a series of poker-straight looks on the red carpet, that many would simply attribute to the work of a good pair of straighteners.

However, Aniston has enlisted the expert hands of her favourite stylist, Chris McMillan, to help ensure not a hair is out of place as she faces the cameras - but round the clock haircare comes at a hefty price.

The actress insisted that McMillan should accompany her on a week-long European promotional tour for the canine-themed flick, flying him from LA to London, first class, for an estimated £14,400, the Daily Mail reports.

With his hotels costing a further £10,000, his fees for tending Ms Aniston's tresses totalling around £1,500 a day and a private jet trip to Paris throwing in another £4,000, Jen must surely have the most expensive 'do in the world!

McMillan is one of her best friends, he goes with her on vacations a lot, not on promotional tours only.

This is hardley something you want to read about in hard times like today .
people who are just trying to make a living day to day
She should lower her head in shame
its a disgrace .

What a total waste of money

I think its disgusting that someone with that amount of money would be so selfish does she not know there are children dying all over the world? If you want to waste your money learn to keep it to yourself!
Comment by andrea on March 04 13:03

unbelievable.

how on earth anyone can think it is morally okay to spend that sort of money on grooming dead cells that are attached to your head needs to re-think their priorities. I would far rather she had given the money to a charity and walked down the red carpet with a towel tied around her wet hair. that would probably have got her more & better media coverage anyway
Comment by PJ on March 04 13:19

REALLY! Her hair looks good but not that good. More money than sense.
Comment by Kate on March 04 13:21

If that's what she spends she is wasting her money, it looks a straggly mess !

Every local hairdresser could do a far better job for a lot less!!

Comment by Golfer on March 04 13:31

I agree it's a lot of money, however what no-one is acknowleding is that she is employing this person, who no doubt employs other people. So whilst it looks like a lot of money to spend, she obviously views it as an investment in her career and she is creating work for someone else whilst presumably raising their profile too, which will hopefully mean he has more opportunity in the future.

The article is designed to provoke a reaction, but the comments above prove that no-one has read beyond the headline and considered the implications any further than that. She did not pay £40k for one blow-dry !
Comment by Catherine on March 04 14:19

Well that's just made my day. I'm trying to get a full time job. Any job and I read drivvle like this. She's pathetic and the hair dresser (who?) is greedy
Comment by CDx on March 04 14:33

Has she not heard of the likes of Nicky Clarke, Lee Stafford etc. Is she really not that "in"?
Comment by janet on March 04 16:47

I have been looking for work all day- u think JA can give me a job to do her hair i could have done a better job for a fraction of that cost!!!
Comment by SJ on March 04 17:12

Aww leave her alone, if she'd gone out with unwashed horrible hair everyone would have said "Can't she afford a hairdresser!" All of this is part of her job, I can't believe she actually likes having her hair done twice a day.
Comment by angela on March 04 18:08

Seriously ............Comment by Golfer on March 04 13:31 which local hairdresser do you think Jennifer Aniston could visit exactly without getting mobbed?
She earns enough and looks amazing, without surgery, unlike many stars! If i look that good approaching 40 i'll be more than happy
Comment by CW on March 04 18:24

I know she is in the spotlight but this is over the top....in the current economic climate it is not a wise move.
Her hair is long and straight, I am sure any of our top hairdressers could have made an excellent job of it.
My heart goes out to people who have lost their jobs or their homes, some have even lost both, it must be difficult reading an article like this where so much money is being spent on something so trivial.
( Not the hairstyling just the fact that she has to have that particular hairdresser with her.)
Comment by Neelie on March 05 11:15

Go Girl!

you got it-spend it!

we need people who can spend to do so!

so keep it up i say!
Comment by marie on March 05 11:43

Extreme media attention seeking from an actress who is trying too hard!!
Comment by Fi on March 05 11:52

Oh Neelie stop winging! It's her money and she is entitled to spend it as she likes - she earned it! What others think about what she spends her money on is irrelevant - it's life! Get used to it. If you want something to moan about, what about Sir Fred who is actually taking tax payers money after bringing a bank to its knees - his £700,00 is coming out of your pocket! That's something to get angry about!
Comment by Gillian on March 05 14:18

why not ! when is she going to spend all some of her money !! especailly now she can't spend any from pitt's.

go Jennifer ! be beautiful and happy !!
