Scarlett Johansson swaps blonde for brunette
By Lucy Hutchings on Wednesday 4 February 2009
Scarlett Johansson sure knows how to make a statement on the red carpet.
At the premiere of new movie He's Just Not That Into You, she was up against a bevy of A-list co-stars – Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly and Ginnifer Goodwin – but ensured all eyes were on her, not only choosing a seriously high-octane Oscar de la Renta frock, but debuting a dramatic new look as well.
Known for her signature blonde bombshell tumbling curls, the actress instead showed off her new poker-straight brunette locks, parted at the centre.
Gradually going darker for months, Johansson first made the change while on the promotional trail for The Spirit, switching from honey blonde to light chestnut.
But why the recent change to the dark side? 'It's part of being a girl. We get to change up our thing and confuse everybody,' the 24-year-old explained to reporters.
The jury's still out on our verdict, but let us know your thoughts in the comments box below. Is Scarlett a signature blonde, or should she stick to brunette?

I personally think she looks better blonde.

Scarlett is one of my fav actress's ,I belive she looks beautiful with any hair colour however this colour is dull and her hair appears lifeless. She was born blonde like myself and she should remain blonde!
The hair colour does not compliment her skin tone and scarlett is famed for her lucious blonde locks. It was part of her signature blonde bomshell look.I could understand that she wanted a change but she should have considered a different shade of blonde or a very light brown with sunkissed blonde highlights woven through it.Do be honest scarlett just looks like another pretty actress with this shade.Beforehand she was striking, fresh and young looking. This shade has made her appear older then her twenties.
Scarlett often changes her hair colour but this shade is shameful on her.
In her upcoming movie her hair is long and blonde, she looks simply stunning.Scarlett is beautiful and she should stop trying to hide it.

She is striking blonde! But that is what we're most familiar with. If we had been used to her as a brunette to begin with we would have a different opinion again, I'm sure! I do think it makes her look a little more mature, but she can change her colour and style as she pleases, it will keep her interesting at the end of the day, so I say, let her be!

She looks so glam! She looks lovely with both blonde and brunette :)

She looks awful! Never thought I'd hear the day I said that about Scarlett. I'm taking a little pleasure in it though... go back to blonde SJ, far far better in every which a way for your look. Plain Jane just doesn't do you justice. (and I'm a brunette, but one who it suits!)

Scarlett looks SO different but still stunning.A beautiful face is still beautiful face no matter what hair colour it is framed by.I absolutely do not agree that the colour does'nt sit well with her skin tone, infact I think it works well and it's good that she has considered darkening her brows to match. Hey and it's only a hair colour she can always get the bleach back out!
