The live snake massage

We've had the nightingale poo facial, the fish pedicure and now, drum roll, it's time for the live snake massage.

A salon in Israel is offering customers a massage with six non-venomous snakes, for just £40, to help lower stress levels (um, really?) and ease muscle aches and pains.

'Some people said that holding the snakes made them feel better, relaxed,' salon owner Ada Barak told Time.

'One old lady said it was soothing, like a cold compress.'

The snakes used in the treatment are strictly of the non-dangerous variety and include a variety of king, corn and milk snakes, with the little ones providing a light 'fluttering' effect on the body, and the larger ones used for more intensive massaging.

Oh, and if snakes really aren't your thing, Ada also offers foot massages using mice. Squeak!
