Marie Claire Beauty news: The Body Shop

Earlier this year, we ran a series of competitions for our readers to celebrate marie claire's 20th anniversary. One of the prizes was a £2,500 make-up masterclass day, courtesy of The Body Shop, and winner Mrs Jacqueline Taylor kindly offered to report back for us. Here's what she had to say…

'I could not believe my luck when I received a call telling me that I had won a make-up masterclass with Chase Aston, international make-up artist for The Body Shop. Not only was the prize for me but for four friends, too!! It was easy deciding who to take: my Mum and three of my best friends. The prize was just perfect for us; it went to five ladies who love and appreciate make-up.

'We were taken to The Westbury Hotel, where the penthouse suite had been booked exclusively for us. We were met by Chase for a Champagne reception and breakfast, and he then he got into creating five individual looks for us.

'Chase was brilliant; he gave us so many handy make-up tips, from creating smoky eyes to perfecting a flawless face.

'We were also treated to lunch at the hotel restaurant, Artisian, and the food was superb.

'After lunch we put into practise what Chase taught us and used the products we received in our goodie boxes, which were packed with The Body Shop make-up.

'We had a fantastic day and were totally spoilt; we all left looking totally glamorous and feeling like a million dollars.'
