Tesco's bargain wonder cream
A £1.79 anti-ageing cream has become the best selling moisturiser at Tesco, outselling all of the leading brands.
Q10 Derma intensive+ anti-wrinkle Day Cream has raced to the top of the charts to become the best selling facial moisturiser at the supermarket giant, just six weeks after launch.
Developed in response to research that confirmed that its shoppers had not been so concerned about money since the 1980s, Tesco introduced the new cream as part of its campaign to become the country's biggest discount supermarket.
Showing signs that the credit crunch may be already hitting women's beauty regimes, the bargain pot is selling 1.5 packs a minute, outselling the popular Nivea Q10 range by 150 times over.

Bought this face cream after reading the reviews and found my skin became greasy and i came out in spots afterwards.
I will stick to my loreal creams from now on!

Hi
I know you may think this skin care range is a bargin but i have to share my secret with you all.
I have found a skin care range at Morrisons called Dermalogics V10 Natural Tech Q10range thats the same kind of money.
I have been using the Day Cream and Eye cream and it fantastic with really noticeable results.
You all must try this!

What a fantastic cream. I have spent a fortune over the years on various wonder creams, yet this is as good and is a fraction of the cost. My skin feels good when I use this cream. I also have very sensitive skin and this does not irritate at all!!!

I am a pensioner and can't afford to shop at Boots. I bought the Tesco product, and really like it. Cheap and good , what more can I ask for. Keep it up Tesco.

I agree with me sister (see Below), she told me about the cream and I think it is just great. Rich and creamy, smells great. I use Garnier Lift, but won't go back. Just £2 or something. Seems to make a difference to me so far.
Well done Tesco. Now can we have something for my legs at the same kind of price please.

This cream is amazing - far better than any brand on the market - even better than Boots Protect and Perfect Serum!! I will stick with this for life - and if you haven't tried it yet what are you waiting for!

I can't believe some of the negative comments posted. This cream is great, I have used the most expensive creams for years and found from all the recent consumer trials these lower priced creams actually do a fantastic job. I started using the Tesco Day & Eye Cream in August and wouldn't use any other cream now, also my bank balance is looking healthier!

Really good product at an amazing price - how do they do it. For my money better than Nivea q10, and less than 1/3rd of the price. Think Nivea and Loreal must be making a huge amount of money out of us all.

Why wonder cream? Does it get rid of wrinkles or at least hide them? Personally, I love a bargain, but I think most women would agree - It could only be a wonder cream if it actually achieved one of the above!

Looks like Tesco have jumped on Aldi's bandwagon. It will be the same cream in a Tesco jar, I would be happy to use it.
Comment by Theresa Adamson on October 08 22:19
Does it have any Sun Factor protection, I think that is very important in a day cream, even in winter.
Comment by Mary T on October 08 22:08
I agree Marie!! My (normally gorgeous) face looked like a badly-tarmacked road afterwards! I get a pot of creme de la mer once a year instead.
Comment by cjg on October 08 22:04
How can the makers afford to make it so cheaply if perhaps the ingredients cost so much. It would be interesting to see any before and after photos compared to more expensive brands.
Comment by Sarah on October 08 18:48
I've also bought expensive creams in the past but now use the Aldi ones they are brill, if this is half as good I'll be trying it!
Comment by Anne-Marie on October 08 17:59
Not sure I'll be splashing out that much to buy it... I still swear by the 70-odd-p Tesco's own brand day cream which I finally settled on after trying hundreds of different, more expensive 'wonder creams'. It's all just a huge con exploiting our insecurities and fear of ageing!

Just because they don't quote science doesn't mean it wont work. As a scientist I know normally brands just make-up scientific sounding words to make people think their creams really work.
Comment by Anon on October 08 16:23
Sounds good to me some of us aren`t snobby about brand names and can`t afford to be! As for science don`t you mean pseudo-science? I mean c`mon pentapepetides, and all the other scientific names to make stuff sound good.
Half the time your paying over the odds just for the name,so if it's good stuff why not buy it.
Comment by mooncat on October 08 16:09
Another example of Tesco's exploiting its position as leading supermarket. Poor Aldi and Lidl are going to be undercut as Tesco can beat them at their own game as they can sell the products even cheaper.
Forget the government bailing out the banks, Tesco could do it easy...
Comment by JJ on October 08 15:39
I've tried the Aldi bargain cream before and found the night one worked much better than the day version. I agree if you have a sensitive probably best not to bother, but as someone who's outside a lot, if this is as good as Aldi's I'd buy it. Just remember it has no spf so suncream is still a must.
Comment by sharon davis on October 08 15:23
Bought the Aldi wonder cream and when asked hubby if I looked younger he said no and that cream stinks!
Comment by Chris on October 08 13:23
I won't be trying it, the Aldi cream brought out an alergic reaction that took weeks to clear up!
Comment by Marie on October 08 13:06
I'm left wondering why this is so popular. No mention of the science behind it, or even if it had a decent spf. What I like to hear is some ancecdotal endorsement backed up by science. Being cheap is not enough to get me excited.
Comment by ann on October 08 13:01
An anti-ageing cream for under £2? Makes you wonder just how justified the mark up is on the much higher priced, similar products.
