Kate Hudson accused of fraud

Kate Hudson has been accused of stealing a key ingredient for her new line of eco-friendly haircare, and is being sued as a result.

The Almost Famous actress teamed up with celebrity hairdresser David Babaii to create the line, which raises funds for conservation charity Wildaid.

Now 220 Laboratories has filed a lawsuit against the pair and the products' manufacturer, with a long list of charges, including fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract and breach of confidence.

The company claims that it developed the formula alongside Wildaid, then after months of working together, Hudson and her partners took the ingredients to a competing manufacturer to garner a cheaper production price.

Hudson has so far denied all claims, stating that she has never met, or heard of the company in question.

220 Laboratories' attorney William E. Crockett though hit back in a statement last week, claiming, 'We can demonstrate that our client... invented these beauty products. David Babaii and Kate Hudson have said they invented the product. Claiming to have invented and developed a product that is delivered ready-to-go is not only breach-of-contract - it's fraud.'
