New shampoo with ox bone marrow
We thought we'd heard it all on the strange beauty ingredients front when bird poo was used in a luxurious facial, but now a Brazilian shampoo has taken the crown with ox marrow extract as its key ingredient.
Going against every other beauty manufacturers' bid to rid their products of animal derived extracts - and any remote fears of lingering mad cow disease - the South American country is audaciously selling bone marrow from oxen as the best way to achieve healthy looking locks.
The glamorous Tutannol shampoo has hit the shelves in Brazil with further promises of '0% salt' and 'essential oils which strengthen and sterilize hair' – should your hair need sterilising that is.
Somehow, we just can't see this one taking off in a hurry…

I used Ox Marrow shampoo in Brazil but thought it was just the name of the product, wasn't aware it contained actual Ox Marrow. Incidentally, it made my hair really manageable and shiny!

It's nothing new - another Brazilian brand was built on Ox Marrow products, although I prefer their Ox Plants line. Ox is just the company name in this line, it's all based on plant extracts and I love it.

It's all about fatty acid content. A shampoo like proanagen offers the same and more without much fireworks.

Maybe other beauty manufacturers are trying to be ethical.
