Aldi night cream sell-out
A skin cream that costs just £1.89 from a budget supermarket does exactly the same job as expensive luxury creams, a new survey has claimed.
Supermarket chain Aldi is preparing itself for a stampede after its Siana Skin Kind Nourishing Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream was voted the joint best skincare product, together with Lancome's luxury night cream, which costs £51 a pot.
The study by Channel 4's show How To Look Good Naked, asked 100 women to blind test a range of popular face creams.
Focusing on scent, texture and hydration, Aldi's anti-wrinkle cream got as many votes as the Lancome night cream, which is 27 times as expensive.
In tests earlier this year, Aldi's day cream, also a snip at £1.89, was voted best anti-ageing product. Sales increased massively by 800% and the supermarket chain is now preparing for another mad dash.
Aldi's UK managing director of buying, said: 'Following the amazing success of the day cream, we are anticipating a repeat performance of high customer demand for this one, with people driving across the country to get their hands on it.'

I bought the night cream last week to give it a try, at the time I didn't know about the reports from a few months ago. I have been using anti wrinkle creams since I was about 18. Yesterday I got up and thought my skin looked very good firm and glowing. I mentioned the cream to my mum an then she told me about the awards. I have to say it's one of the best creams I have used in a long time. Can't wait to see if they come up with an eye cream I spend around £40 on mine every couple of months can't live without it. Even my friend said yesterday my skin looked good.

As a fan of expensive night creams, I started to use this one after I read the reviews and I will never turn back! I have converted all my work mates and they love it also.

I have been using both the day and night cream for a couple of months now and have really noticed the difference in my skin.

Do you think this cream is suitable for skin of age 32 or younger..I heard that some creams can be too strong for youngish skin and cause some damage over time?? Confused as want to fight wrinkles with this 'wonder cream' not cause them...!

I already bought this stuff for my wife. She was not really prepared for "this". But luckily she obeys. Gone are the days of 60 pound creams and man, I love it. That saves a lot of money for more pressing items like good food and beer, did I mention video games? Jokes aside, we need the money for the university fees for our daughter.

I've been using both creams for a while now, and I love them! The smell is lovely and reminds me of summer! Both creams are just so affordable and I would recommend the creams to anyone!

After reading your review of the day cream I bought both creams and think its amazing. At 44 I've tried loads of creams and serums that claim wonders but have found this to be just as good as any of them. The week before I had spend 60.00 on another brand and quite honestly didnt think it lived up to its hype. This stuff is easy to use, didn't irritate my dry and sensitive skin, the smell isnt that bad, my 74 year old mother loves it as well, and she loves her Origins. Quite honestly give it a try, you might be surprised

Ok, I tried both the Aldi day & night cream, I mean at £1.89 who can resist! Day moisturiser doesnt't have appropriate spf and the scent is horrific. Night moisturizer pretty gloopy and with the same nasty scent, worse thing about it was the horrid smell really lingers. I cannot possibly believe that anyone could like the nasty scent and horrid texture. Sometimes a little bit of luxury is deserved!!!
