Suncream best anti-ageing product

Forget the hundred pound miracle creams, the best anti-ageing product is suncream, scientists have claimed.

Although luxury brands like Crème de la Mer and La Prairie are effective at turning back the clock, one dermatologist, Professor Chris Griffiths, says if you're worried about wrinkles from sun damage, the best solution is to wear suncream.

Women have also been warned against using various different anti-ageing creams as the side effects of combining them has not been properly tested.

'The majority of anti-ageing skin products are actually aimed at the effects of sun exposure, not how our body naturally ages. If I had to pick just one product it would be suncream,' Professor Griffiths said.

Prof Griffiths is responsible for sending thousands of women crazy over Boots' Protect and Perfect Beauty Serum, when he proved it worked. Stores across the country sold out of the face cream after research on the programme Horizon proved its benefits.

The anti-ageing beauty market is rapidly growing, doubling in the past five years to over £100 million. If it continues at the current rate, the figure could double again in the coming five years.
