Marie Claire news: Lipgloss that helps you lose weight

A new £10 lipgloss claims it will not only make your lips shiny, but could help you lose weight at the same time.

The Fuze Slenderize gloss contains a number of ingredients that help to speed up metabolism, cut the appetite and boost energy levels. One of these is SuperCitrimax, which is often found in diet drinks, and is believed to help curb your appetite.

The gloss is made by American beauty brand Too Faced, in conjunction with diet drink company Fuze. It is available in three flavours - blueberry and raspberry, strawberry and melon, and dragon fruit and lime - and is currently exclusive to cosmetics site Sephora.

A spokesman for Too Faced commented, 'With a single swipe of the tube, Fuze Slenderize provides a pretty, plump pout with an added bonus of healthy, energy-boosting, appetite curbing ingredients.'

Unfortunately there are no plans for the line to be laucnhed in the UK, so get thinking of American friends that can stock up for you!

I've just visited the Sephora site in a frenzy about to order all three - and they don't ship to the UK! Gutted! Where can I get them in this country???

Yet another gimmick to get women to spend money. There's only one way to lose weight and that's to eat healthily and move more! As someone who was overweight for 8 years with accompanying eating disorders, it was only when I stopped dieting and learned to trust my body and eat healthy foods (which includes chocolate and treats occasionally) that I lost weight. That was 25 years ago. I'm now 50 and haven't changed weight in 25 years despite eating what I want. The slimming industry is only interested in making money - if their products worked, they'd go out of business. Don't waste your money.

After a morning of research, I can confirm that unfortunately there are no plans to sell the lipgloss in the UK. Too Faced's main UK supplier Boots have confirmed that the range is unlikely to reach British stores in the near future. I can only advise searching on eBay, or asking anyone visiting the States to stock up for you!
