Your weekly dose of all things new and brilliant from the Marie Claire beauty desk…

Before we start on the products that have had us rubbing our hands in glee this week, here's a little update on what the team have been up to...

NYFW: Our beauty editor Suzanne braved the minus-14 temperatures in New York to report back on the AW15 looks as they happened last week. Rodarte’s Swarovski eye additions and the make-up at Caroline Herrera thrilled her. Head over to our instagram page to check them out or read up on her reports here. Next up; London.

MARLOES HORST: While Suzanne traipsed from show to show, our Beauty & Style director Lisa and Beauty Writer Madeleine were also trying to stay warm while on a shoot with Marloes Horst, who gamely donned a mini bikini for our May issue. Her beauty tips are to follow – trust us, you want what she’s using.

THE SKINCARE: Malin & Goetz Cleansing Oil

Still removing your make-up with a face wipe? Make the switch to cleansing oils immediately; it’s just as speedy (simply rub all over your face and rinse), yet much kinder to the skin (and, no, an oil will most definitely not clog your skin up, we promise). We’re thoroughly obsessed with this new cleansing oil by our favourite New York duo as it not only removes all whispers of make-up but is also refreshing AND soothing thanks to the eucalyptus and camomile in the formula.

Out in April in Space NK. £28.

THE MAKE-UP: House of GlamDolls Glambase Wheel

We’re still trying to master pulling off a sneaky contour that we can get away with wearing to the office and now feel that little bit closer thanks to this wheel, which is made up of six creamy colours that cover concealing, contouring and highlighting. Foolproof.

Out now. £25.

THE NAILS: Dolce & Gabbana Nail Lacquers

Dolce & Gabbana Nail Polishes are, as you’d expect, a luxury affair. The original 31 shades have now been joined by 10 newbies that are every bit as lust-worthy as their predecessors. Our favourite has to be Amethyst, which is a dreamy deep purple that works as well in the boardroom as it does at the bar.

Out now. £20.

THE SCENT: Ex Nihilo Personalisation Program

The prestigious Parisian perfumery now has a home in the Harrods Salon de Parfums. We went to test run the bespoke service and found choosing our scent remarkably easy thanks to the gentle guidance of the team (and because all the combinations are put together by expert noses, you can’t really go wrong). Scent de Marie Claire has had compliments, but we’ll never tell anyone what’s in it…

The Personalisation Programme is available at Salon de Parfums in Harrods where a bottle of bespoke scent starts at £240.

THE OLDIE BUT GOODIE: By Terry Crayon Kohl Terribly

To clarify: we’re revisiting these not because the colours are brilliant (though they are), but because there is no other pencil on the market that slides on so easily, smudges like a dream and then STAYS PUT without mysteriously disappearing from skin. The beauty desk have put one of these on in the morning many a time to find it still there at cocktail hour. This we find impressive in the extreme.

Out now. £23.50.

THE NICHE RELEASE: Tweezy Hair Remover

Reserve judgement; this little metal spring when twisted and glided over skin just whips hair out like a demon. That’s not to say it is a pain-free process; on the contrary, the team’s yelps were heard by the rest of the office while we tested. But it is easy, cheap, long-lasting, fits in a handbag and, most crucially, works.

Out now at tweezy.co.uk. £10.

THE HEALTH AID: Udo’s Choice Digestive Enzyme Blend

We’ve been reliably informed that all good health starts in the gut. As good gut health starts with a whammy of enzymes, we now pop these vegetarian pills with every meal in the hope that the blend will aid digestion and maximise nutrient absorption. Now to kick that 4pm chocolate habit…

Out now. £7.99.

THE TREATMENT: Privet Beauty

We are a touch picky about where we’ll wax. Hands must be speedy, the joint infallibly hygienic and the wax hot rather than strip for our intimate areas to avoid unecessary pain. Privet in Notting Hill offers all three in mighty comfortable surroundings. In fact, we were so oddly relaxed after our wax in the Log Cabin that we stayed for a massage…

Hot wax from £9.50. To book, call 0207 221 5674.
