A few years ago, no one would have thought eyebrows were going to be such a huge deal. Now, it's all about #brows, whether they're thick, blonde, straight or arched, there's a lot more to them than just little caterpillars of hair above our eyes.

So when we're all browsing the web for pictures of the Met Gala, we find ourselves not only looking at everyone's dresses but zooming in to catch a little glimpse of what's going on up in the above-eye region.

Kim Kardashian-West opted for bleached brows - over her usual bleached hair. Katy Perry got in on the action too, bleaching her brows to soften an otherwise harsh make-up look. Her gorgeously purple-lined peepers and vampire lips subsequently stood out in all the right ways.

Lily Aldridge, ever the classy, elegant supermodel, decided to glam up her image with a brush of gilded gold across her eyebrows, an ingenious little trick by Marc Jacobs' very own Quinn Murphy. Albeit slightly risqué, she pulled it off without looking odd. But that's not to say they didn't go unnoticed. She teamed her touch of gold with natural make-up and side-parted slicked back hair.

To match the metallic sensuality of Lily’s dress, Quinn created a bold, gilded look that's a vast departure from anything Lily has donned in the past. The focal point of the make-up was gilded brows, punctuated by a chocolate lip to match.

Get the look: Quinn crushed the gold powder eyeshadow from Style Eye Con No 7 Plush Eyeshadow Palette in Starlet 204, £45, and mixed it with Beauty Brow Tamer Grooming Gel, £18, to create these futuristic yet regal-looking brows, layering the product layer up on layer.
