Lady Gaga's infamous meat dress is going on show as part of an exhibition that's touring the US.

The dress, which has been dried, preserved and painted, is part of an exhibition called Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power, is based at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, USA but will now be touring the country.

The exhibition follows the development of female artists who have shaped the modern world of music, and who better embodies this than the modern first lady of rock, Lady Gaga?

The dress, which Gaga wore at the 2010 MTV music awards, was made almost entirely out of raw beef and was intended to highlight the situation surrounding gay people in the US military, in particular the policy of 'don't ask, don't tell'.

Lady Gaga said at the time that if people don't stand up for their rights, 'pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.'

The meat dress will be shown along side other legendary outfits such as Madonna’s alluring outfits from her Blonde Ambition tour.
