Dolce & Gabbana will unveil their debut couture collection during haute couture week but have chosen to show in Italy over Paris.
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana confirmed the rumours that they were set to launch a bespoke line to the Financial Times.
However, they have chosen to present their collection to a small group of clients in Taormina, Sicily, rather then show in Paris.

According to the Financial Times, showing in Italy allows the brand to 'avoid the stringent requirements the French couture world imposes on any brand that wants to call itself a full-fledged couture house' and 'it gives them a chance to launch their first collection free of critics, who might not like it.'
The debut couture collection will be unveiled on July 9.
