Roland Mouret to launch shoe collection

French designer Roland Mouret, best known for his sexy Galaxy dress, is about to launch a shoe collection and is set to reveal the footwear line at his Paris Fashion Week show on March 2.

Speaking to WWD, Mouret explained: 'These are shoes that women can wear day-in and day-out. They have a masculine feel, a daytime attitude, and they are not too precious. And, although they have a high heel, they are really comfortable. My challenge was to balance sexiness with comfort.'

This isn’t the designer's first foray into shoes, last year he was named as creative director of shoe brand Robert Clergerie.

WWD reports that he will continue as the creative director of the brand and that his own footwear line will be separate.

The collection comprising of six different styles, including court shoes, T-straps and boots, will also feature an ‘R’ shape visible from the side, which is formed by the heel and the platform of the sole’s curve.

Ooh la la, bring on March 2, we say.
