Fashion designers Maarten van der Horst, Alice Lee and Sorcha O’Raghallaigh are just some of the names chosen to take part in the 2012 Selfridge’s Bright Young Things project.

The iniative nutures up-and-coming talent and this year they're offering 15 emerging British designers the opportunity to create their own windows for the London departement store. Selfridges will also sell their work both in-store and online.

Alex Iancovici, contemporary womenswear buyer at Selfridges, says: 'None of this year's brands have a bricks-and-mortar stockist in the UK, which is really exciting for Selfridges as it means some wonderfully fresh, unique additions to our shopfloor edit.'

With more than a million shoppers walking past the famous windows every week, the displays provide an incredible launch-pad for the designers to showcase their creations to the public - and tempt them to come in and buy!

We'll be hot-footing it to see Maarten van der Horst's creation (one of his Fashion East designs for SS12 pictured above) and can't wait to see what Lady Gaga favourite Sorcha O'Raghallaigh comes up with!

The initative runs until the end of February.
