Alfa Romeo Young Designer Award
By Jane McFarland on Tuesday 22 February 2011
As London Fashion Week draws to a close, we're turning our attention to fashionable talent elsewhere in the UK.
Having already worked with Central St Martins, Alfa Romeo, the Italian sports car manufacturer, are continuing to support up-and-coming designers with the prestigious Alfa Romeo Young Designer Award at St Andrews Charity Fashion show (yes, that's the one where Wills first spotted Kate - see her style highs and lows here).

The five shortlisted candidates - Dominique Dean, Emma Sherlock, Hugo Mills, Judy Zhang and Antonia Efe - have already had their designs photographed in St Andrews iconic harbour and on Saturday, they'll present ideas to an expert panel including the Alfa Romeo ambassador and PPQ design director, Amy Molyneaux.
The winner will receive £1000 and funding to produce an item of clothing for the charity, Trekstock - supporting young people with cancer.
'From what I've seen so far, the designs look great,' says PPQ's Molyneaux.
'It's been really good to be involved in a project such as this whereby Alfa Romeo is not only supporting emerging UK fashion but also contributing to a very worthy charity in Trekstock.'
St Andrews Charity Fashion Show takes place on 26th February. For more information, visit standrewsfashion.co.uk
