Rachel Bilson and Princess Eugenie put their style on trial when they both stepped out in the same rainbow-hued Diane von Furstenberg dress. But, who wore it best?

Perennial style setter Rachel Bilson was first to rock the frock, giving it its first public outing back in September last year.

The former OC starlet wore the DVF dress to take in some shows during New York Fashion Week, braving it bare-legged, and accessorising with lace-up ankle booties and poker-straight locks.

Next up, and Princess Eugenie wore a slightly shorter version of the same zebra-print frock for a night out at Annabel's in London, only last month.

The Royal dressed for the chilly British weather by teaming her dress with black tights, towering heels and a purple clutch.

Good effort from Eugenie, but Bilson wins it for me. I prefer the slightly longer length.

I think it looks better on Eugenie. Not a fair contest though cos Rachel is smiling so it creates an overall better picture.

Rachel definitely rocks it best!! Much prefer the longer length. I do like it with tights, but thicker tights would look better - Eugenie looks like she pinched those off her Mum c.1990!

Rachel looks lovely but but for me Eugenie looks far more polished having added tights to the shorter version.

If Eugenie has chosen the longer version, she would be a winner! Prefer her shoes and black tights, but also prefer Bilson's longer style dress.

If you cover up their faces then it still looks better on Rachel. It looks terrible on Eugenie too short and makes her look frumy and a bit chavy! I too prefer the shoes and tights look though.

I have to say Eugenie...she's curvier & the tights & shoes look much better that Rachel's nobbly knees.

Eugenie's looks like a top and skirt version rather than a dress. The colours don't flow across the body as well and the shorter length reduces the impact of the print - so Rachel has it on these photos.

I think they caught Eugenie at an unfortunate angle! but the bold colours suit rachel's tiny frame works much better and she looks awesome in it!
