Simon Cowell signs up X Factor's Olly

We knew it wouldn't long before the X Factor's Olly Murs was snapped up by a record label - we just couldn't bank on his new boss being Simon Cowell.

But alas, it has been revealed the singer, currently on the show's live tour, has won two recording contracts - one with Epic Records and one with Simon Cowell's label, Syco.

In a formal announcement Epic boss Nick Raphael said: 'Olly is a big personality and we hope to make a big record showcasing his obvious talents.'

With two-time Brit winners JLS - also signed with Epic - proving you don't have to win the competition to be a success, we'd say the future's looking bright for Olly.

We'd also say Simon Cowell has learned from his past mistakes and snapped up the runner-up of this year's show before it's too late!
