Kristen Stewart wins BAFTA Rising Star Award - 2010 BAFTA Awards

Twilight fans might have been disappointed to see that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson dodged the paparazzi yet again, walking the BAFTA red carpet seperately, but they'll be thrilled to learn that their favourite leading lady has picked up the award's Rising Star accolade.

Ms Stewart, who has starred in flicks such as Into the Wild and Adventureland, fought off fierce competition from the likes of Carey Mulligan and Nicholas Hoult to bag the prize, which is the only gong at the ceremony to be voted for by the British public.

A good night for the starlet, not only has she clearly impressed cinema-goers, she wowed the fashion critics too, dazzling in a gorgeous, ruffled Chanel gown.

Avoiding the sea of waiting paps, Pattinson, her co-star and rumoured beau, arrived later, and looked slightly bedraggled, clearly caught in the evening's downpour.

Im happy for the young actress if only she give up Robert no only he is using her but I think he is a playboy she deserve better.

Richly deserved - she is on the verge of becoming a long-term A-list star. And not because she seeks fame, but because wants to and can act.

She didn't deserve it, and she clearly knew it. I enjoyed her kind of back handed compliment to the twilight fans... for "devoted and attentive" read "desperate and obsessive." And to quote the girl herself... "[acting]'s not all I want to do - be a professional liar for the rest of my life."

Clearly some people are easily pleased. I have yet to see her in a role that is worthy of acclaim or an award. Being in a blockbuster movie, that was bound to be a hit anyway really isn't the same as being a good actor.
