Red lipstick sales soar

It seems if there is one shade to paint your pout this season, then it has to be ravishing red.

A top trend at beauty haven Selfridges, the iconic department store has seen a surge in rouge shade sales, rising by 35% over the last year.

Commenting on the make-up phenomenon, David Walker-Smith, Beauty Director for Selfridges said: 'Red lipsticks are on the up because women want to feel sexy. It instantly changes your appearance, boosts, morale and sexuality.'

As for its best sellers, and leading the pack is Chanel's Passion from the Allure collection, followed by YSL's Rouge Volupte 17 Red Muse, Dior's Serum Rouge Crimson Red, Armani's Rouge d'Armani no. 400 and Dolce & Gabbana's Ruby.
