Scotland's own answer to, er, Elaine Paige, the inimitable Susan Boyle, has had over 120 million hits on YouTube. Her incredible audition performance on Britain's Got Talent has entertained people all around the world. 

As a result, she has made it onto the top 100 list of the top internet videos of 2009, compiled by American gossip site Gawker. Twin singers Jedward have also made it.

As Gawker generally restricts its coverage to US-based stories, this is a fantastic reflection of the global appeal of British TV reality shows.

Other videos which made it onto the list include a world record attempt at 'human mattress dominoes', a teenage boy throwing a tantrum after being banned from playing the World of Warcraft computer game, and footage of female footballer Elizabeth Lambert assaulting an opponent during a university match. 

And who could forget the infamous Keyboard Cat, the musical moggy who has amused and delighted so many? Not us, that's for sure...
