SEE PICS! Demi's head on model's body?
By Sarah Karmali on Wednesday 25 November 2009
Online fashion bloggers have questioned whether Demi Moore's body is really her own on the latest cover of W magazine - or whether it has been replaced by that of supermodel Anja Rubik, with Miss Moore's head superimposed on top.
A spot of airbrushing here and there is to be expected on any magazine cover - but online critics felt that this instance appeared to be one step too far.
When the December issue of W magazine hit the news stands last week, there was instant questioning from fashion fans, as to whether the already slender Demi had been digitally altered - as in particular, her left hip appeared to be significantly smaller than natural.
Fashion bloggers and readers went into online overdrive, pointing out that the natural curve of Miss Moore's hip and thigh seemed to be distorted.
W magazine has firmly denied the claims, saying that ‘nothing unusual' took place - but a prominent style blog has put forward a far more extreme theory...
The W cover sees the actress sporting a gold Balmain leotard with tassled shoulders and draping around the hips - the same piece worn by 26-year-old model Anja Rubik on the catwalk during the recent Paris show.
The creators of blog PopCultureMadness have pointed out the striking similarity between Demi's body on the cover, and that of the 20-years-younger model - questioning as to whether a drastic body swap has taken place.

By comparing two images side-be-side, some eagle-eyed fashion fans are even questioning as to whether Demi actually wore the Balmain leotard in the first place.
What do you think? Is that really Anja's body we're seeing on the front of the magazine? Is it just an over-altered Demi? Or is this all just a big fuss about nothing? Let us know your comments in the box below!

This picture of Anja isn't the one I've seen compared to Demi's body. The picture I saw looks EXACTLY like the picture of Demi. I definitely think something weird is going on 'cause no two pictures can look so similar.

Oh my god... VERY suspect!! The two bodies do look very, very similar. Whether it's Anja's or not though, it's definitely not au naturale Demi.
Comment by gemma on November 25 12:25
This is WEIRD! I wouldn't have noticed until you pointed it out, but it really does look like Demi's head has just been pasted on that models body! Demi whatever happened to growing old gracefully?!
Comment by Kate on November 25 12:28
There's no way that is the body of the model - her bones are protruding in the hip area and the decolletage isn't even the right height. All stars are airbrushed in magazines and I don't think this is an exception but we should cut Demi some slack here
Comment by Emily on November 25 13:02
um well, first of all they are not the same height and please note neck and collar bone structure is definitely diferent.
Comment by clare on November 25 13:13
Haha Kate!!!
Growing old gracefully doesn't happen in lala land especially when you consider the work she has Alledgedly had done...Hmmmm
Comment by andrea on November 25 13:22
The neck and collarbone might look a bit different here because the pics shown are of two slightly different angles.. And what has height got to do with it?! If they can superimpose someone's head, then they can certainly add or loose a few centimetres in height.
Could you imagine the furore if this turns out to be true? I just think its a bit TOO much of a coincidence that this model happened to be wearing the same Balmain piece?...
Comment by lily on November 25 14:01
What on earth? Two people in good shape wearing the same outfit - why does that mean one's been superimposed onto the other? Definitely not. Besides, their neck and chest regions look totally different.
Comment by Grace Dalton on November 25 14:23
Just shows how gullible people are to suggestion, if you look closely, they are definitely not the same bodies, Demi has a larger bust, her hips are not protruding and her neckline looks softer. I think this is Demi. We have to remember she's nearing 50 and if I look anything like her at that age I'll be very happy but I doubt I will as I don't have around £250,000 for a complete cosmetic surgery body overhaul lol! She is still beautiful though and seems to become more so with age ... go girl!
Comment by Lesley on November 25 14:25
Frida, do you have a link to the photograph you've seen? Just curious because based on the one shown here I'd say it's definately not the same body, as well as the neck and decolletage area the arm musculature is different also?
Comment by Annie on November 25 14:30
I assume that a catwalk photo wasn't used for her body but a studio one due to the lighting and pose of the body. The photo of Demi does look a little suspect, whether or not that is down to just a bit of bad/over worked airburshing or another photo being used is hard to tell but when I first glanced at the smaller photo at the top I did think her head looked a bit out of proportion with the rest of the body. And besides, I know Demi is svelte but that looks more like the body of an under nurished model to me.
I can well believe that magazines do this - in fact, I remember watching a programme once about people whose profession it is to model part of their body in place of celebrities, so one woman had 'perfect' hands and would go along and be a hand double for people like Kate Moss - they just didn't mention anything about full body models!
But I suppose it was only a matter of time and as being thing is considered more important in show biz than perfect hands or toned calf muscles, to be honest it wouldn't suprise me if celebrities have their bodies replaced with model ones all the time, I think in this instance the photoshopping was just done particularly badly thus leading to speculation.

I don't think her head has been superimposed on another body. Demi looks great anyway - but she should considering she has had work done. However, she has been airbrushed, I would say, maybe a little too enthusiastically on her hips, giving an odd line.
I don't think the supermodel looks that great in this little number anyway - bones sticking out and no boobies! She needs a good meal.

Agree the neck and bone placement and muscle are different but show a picture of knees and u will soon tell....wrinkles ..

...Bit Demi does have a gorgeous bod so who knows....and she works hard for it.
Comment by anon on November 25 20:35
3rd comment...prob just an extra bit of airbrushing...anyway...so what....
cant be that different or D would be to worried about appearing in public.

Demi tweeted a few months ago that she's never had any plastic surgery... and now her body looks a lot like a 26 year old. Whatever! Whether it's a swap, surgery or just intense airbrushing, it's a step too far - she's over 40 and she's got a better body than most 17 year olds!
Comment by Rebecca on November 26 12:43
It is definitely superimposed!!!!!
Comment by Janice on November 26 13:06
I don't think that model's body looks at all like Demi on the cover. If you look at the bust, Demi's is fuller, if you look at the hips, Demi's are slightly wider. I think people just see what they want to see.
Comment by Sunny on November 26 16:51
You chose the wrong picture of Anja. Also the photographer offered £5000 to charity last week if Demi proved her "original" was really the original.
Comment by Sarah on November 26 21:46
Very dodgy - whether it's a body swap or excessive air brushing the real issue is can a woman of Demi's age (even with all the trainers, beauticians etc. she may have access to) look that good without digital assistance? It creates a very unrealistic comparison point/ target for the rest of the population.
Comment by Rachel on November 27 17:03
If you look at her left hip, where the sash crosses over the top part of her leg does not line up with the bottom part. It is way out.
Comment by Chrissie on November 30 11:28
The picture comparison in the life and style magazine shows the sash on the model criss-crossed the opposite way and the position of the model shows that her arms are much longer than Demi's. I don't think they can airbrush shorter arms on Demi can they? I think people are just jealous that she's in her 40s and looks awesome.
