Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to adopt baby no.7?
By Louise O'Connell on Thursday 12 November 2009
Can we hear the pitter patter of tiny feet at the Brangelina household?
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt already have six children but according to reports the couple are looking to adopt a girl from Syria to add to their brood.
Tomb Raider star Angelina, 34, already has three biological children with partner Brad Pitt, 45. Shiloh, three and 16-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Together they adopted Zahara, four, and Pax, who turns five soon and son Maddox, eight, who Angelina adopted when she was with actor Billy Bob Thornton.
However, it seems Brad is not too keen on baby no. 7, as Angelina is going it alone. A spokesperson for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in DC said that 'only (Angelina's) name (was) on the (adoption) papers'.
A source speaking to OK! magazine has said that, '(Brad) has made it clear that six children are more than he can handle. The idea of one more seemed ludicrous, but Angie is determined to complete her rainbow family.'
Angelina has proved that she's a determined women and once she sets her mind to something she follows through, so maybe baby number seven is on its way...

I think she's mad... WHY on earth do they need any more children? Angelina seems to think they're just designer accessories she can have whenever she wants. They must have their hands full - I think they would do better to concentrate on the kids they've already got. Brad and Ange are so busy, I bet they don't have that much time to spend with them anyway.

They clearly have enough money and help to provide a much better life for these kids than they would have had. So what's the harm?

The woman, must have time on her hands, sh is completely insane, and just wants people to think she is a do gooder.

But instead of giving 1 child a life of nannys and money she could help more helping a family or orphans.

She's completely mad. Especially when Brad doesn't want another child, what an awful situation, not only for them and their relationship but for the child and their other children. That's going to be one unhappy family.

Brad, get out of there!

For children to be truly happy they need love. time and attention, not looked after by a succession of paid helpers. If the couple feel the need to be doing something worthwhile they should donate to existing aid organisations.

We don't know how much of this story is true and we certainly don't know the facts behind the headline. If they do wish to adopt from abroad again, it may well be that they cannot adopt as a couple because they are not married. A number of countries only allow adoption by couples if they are married, in which case one person would adopt the child initially and the partner adopt through the courts in their own country at a later date. I would also caution people against assuming adoption is as easy as choosing a new 'designer accessory'. It is a very long, emotional and demanding (yet rewarding) process and no amount of money nor number of nannies change the fact that you are the parent who will have to answer the difficult questions and help your child deal with their history and feel secure and happy in their new family. It is offensive to the great number of people who go through the heartache and hardwork of adoption, to assume that it is somehow the 'easy route' to having a child.

Adding to the brood of children they already have means less time and attention spent with the children they already have....what happened to quality and not quantity? It seems that they aren't taking into consideration of the needs of the children they already have. Adopting single children from around the world doesnt make the changes necessary to improve the lives of children in the third world.

I kind of agree about the time and attention issue, but if the lives of these individual children are improved by being adopted, then I find it hard to argue with. Yes, it doesn't solve the worldwide issue of child suffering in the third world, but why should Brangelina be held accountable for that?

If she doesn't feel complete and blessed with the children she has and wants to offer more children love and a home why doesn't she open an orphanage. She can give lots of children an opportunity to get a stable environment instead of adopting these children and dragging them around the world with her.

What a farce. Is there not a laughable irony in the way in which they are selecting children to adopt from specific countries and therefore dismissing others who are of an ethnicity that they already 'have'?! Where's the genuine compassion in such calculated actions like that?! As parents they are failing to meet the most important requirement of any child: stability. But I guess schooling them in one country and dragging them around to several others every month suits their own selfish needs. Their relationship seems to continue to be based upon the accumulation of children to detract from the underhand way in which it began.
