The Big Debate: Friends with benefits
By Lucy Hutchings on Wednesday 4 November 2009
Could sex buddies be the single girls' saviour?
Less risky than a one-night stand and less complicated than a full-time relationship, December's Marie Claire explores whether 'friends with benefits' could be the perfect solution for a happy single life.
Now we want to hear your views. Are you single with a sex buddy on speed dial? Or is the idea better in theory and has led to you losing a friendship?
We want to hear your experiences and stories so join in Marie Claire's Big Debate, by posting your comment in the box below.

For a while it often seems like the perfect solution, just once a week leaves your weekend and clubbing nights free with no worry of being commited to someone else. But you cant forget their on the same situation, they could have another partner at the same time leaving your sexual health at risk. Also at some point, one of you normally falls for the other and it doesnt have a happy ending.

Trouble is, I think many women have that age old problem of not being able to keep their feelings separate. I know I certainly can't. I would worry that something like this could ruin a friendship, as one of your would inevitably want to move on before the other... and then comes the jealousy when it ends. It might work for some, but it's definitely not for me.

Lots of my friends did it, and I tell you something, it doesn't work. If you have casual sex more than once it creates some kind of attachement, especially for women.
My boyfriend had someone causual for 3 years before he met me. The problem was she couldn't understand it was over once he and I got together and she threaten me and tried to kill herself. She said that by great sex he gave her hope for sth more and she was just waiting.
You'd better get a vibrator...

I've had one for the past 8 months. I sometimes think that I am developing feelings for him which is not wise. For me its a fantastic win-win situation. I'm actually dreading the day he turns round and says he has found a girlfriend (if I don't have a boyfriend before him).
