Her new single is also very similar to Kelis - Little Star which i much prefered.

I think she sang really well, considering the jerky dance moves she was doing at the same time (lucky the backing track was there to support her though!). Was certainly a very polished performance - shame that the song itself isn't much chop.

Cheryl is beautiful - a real fashion icon with a figure we would all dream of having. Her vocal tone is sadly flat,with minimal vibrato, no real colour. Take away the X Factor emotion, backing and razamataz - and what's left? Not a lot I suspect.

I don't watch X-Factor, but my two girls aged 11 and 9 do, they love it. However, on hearing of Whitney Houston's performance planned for Sunday eve I couldn't miss the opportunity of seeing the greatest singer perform live. Now, sat on the sofa with the tele on in the background, the singer in the red outfit caught my eye, my reaction was, wow, that contestant can sing.. still not paying much attention, I said to my girls - SHE SHOULD WIN X-FACTOR THIS YEAR. My children, amazed, looking at me and said in their mum your stupid voices, "that's Cheryl Cole"!!! So, the girl sung good, and she can dance too. who said girl bands aren't talented!!

Cheryl's performance was incredible and whether she mimed or not, you can't take it away from her. At the end of the day she was there to entertain and she totally did that. She is stunningly beautiful, has an incredible smile, a wardrobe that is fantastic, has a life that most of us can only dream of, and on top of that is just a lovely person to boot. If anyone criticises her on her performance on the XFactor, I will say that it just comes down to jealousy and sour grapes. She looked amazing in that military outfit.

erm, she did get through the X-factor auditions ... and the public vote ...(well Pop Stars or whatever it was called then). She's proved she can sing live but on this occasion she performed to a pre-recorded live performance - it wasn't the actual pressed recording. There are not many people who can jump around like that and keep their breath let alone sing! Madonna has toured whilst miming for years...

I'm not a fan at all but if you take away most 'pop stars' styling, backing dancers and other glitz and glam then you're not left with a fat lot so Ms Cole is no different and shouldn't be attacked for doing what the whole industry does every day. Did anyone see Kylie live before the Spinning Around makeover? She was awful! but now, the whole package makes her much more attractive as a pop star.

Anyway, do we really want all our 'idols' to be exactly the same as us? Surely we all want a bit of glitz and glam?

Did anyone see Robbie Williams's performance last week? Cheryl's was astounding compared to his. I can't imagine the pressure she must be under being a judge and having to perform, and non of the X-Factor finalists have to carry out the type of dance moves that Cheryl did on Sat. Many professionals use a backing tracks to back up their voices during complicated routines - have any of you tried to dance to that level and sing at the same time?

I say give Cheryl credit where credit is due - her overall performance was fantastic and her outfit was at the height of fashion as always. Oh and stop voting for John and Edward because they are the ones who can't sing or perform!!!

First instinct was what the heck are they doing dressing her in that 'what the hell is that' kind of outfit. I was a bit gobsmacked and just couldnt stop looking at those stupid trouers. She is beautiful and I expected something much more glamorous. I was surprised by the song, don't like it and this for her first single is not good, but it will do well though despite that just because of who she is and that so many people fancy her.
Her voice was better than I expected but it was weak and I do believe it was pre recorded so considering that it's quite shamefull when the x factor contestants are giving thier all to try and get through the competition. The camera did not get hardly any close ups of her face and that was useful in hiding the lip sync, it was a cover up.
Simon was saying what Cheryl wanted to hear when he said her performance was fantastic and Whitney has aged way beyond her 46 years and was under the influence of something whatever it was. Its sad and her voice is not what it used to be, it has not escaped the abuse her body has been through and seems to still be going through

Not good, I thought she looked 'cheap' far worse than the girls from Kandy Rain, who's costumes she criticised so vehemently in the first week of X Factor...she needs to sing live or admit to miming, singing over a recording does not count as 'live' it's assisted.
Admittedly it can't be easy singing live with a vigorous dance routine even though her routine was pretty weak compared to the video.
Simon lost some credability too, his praise was too over the top for a mediocre performance.

She's more a presenter nowadays.I thought she came over as terrified and her voice is sure not her strong point. Simon just loves everything about Cheryl so he will always sing her praises.She looked good, moved well though.

Caauuused a massive stir last night when watching the performance with my friends, she's beautiful, but she cant sing, the song isnt any good and the outfit was hideous. If you compare her to someone like Beyonce, who is a performer through and through she looks like a child doing kareoke. I am afraid to say Cheryl Cole cannot sing. However, her dress sense was fantastic, she is also young and very attractive and is a good dancer - but singing .... not good! As a group, Girls Aloud can belt out a reasonable tune but individually .. sorry bad!

I thought it took a lot of guts to get up there, with her being a judge herself, she was always going to be open to scrutiny. The dancing was amazing and I doubt anyone could sing that well whilst jumping around so much, that being said I don't think that her song and vocals were all that great, compared to the amazing vocals heard by some of the contestants. Would also have to admit that although Whitney is my all time favorite, I don't think her performance or vocals were all that clever either..

The best part were the dancers behind her,her voice was shaky and out of tune for most of the song, a few good parts, last 30 secs she pulled of a average performance with some excellent dance moves.

All the top singers have mimed at times, Robbie, Michael Jackson ...Alexandra admitted to miming on the X-Factor last week so why did Cheryl get put under so much pressure!?It is hard going out on your own when you've been part of a group. Well done Cheryl, you proved all the negative critisism wrong. A very entertaining performance and great moves. Much of the bad feeling is down to jealousy, she's very natural and down to earth. Just let her be herself. Why must everyone be critised so harshly these days - we're all dfferent and that diverity is what makes life interesting. We are all entitiled to out opinion but sometimes we can keep some thoughts to ourselves. Not every thought we have should come out of our mouths! Live and let live.

There is a reason Cheryl Cole was casted to sing in a group, rather than as a solo artist. Her voice is rather complementary to others, than powerful on it's own. I admire her for trying and think she's a very nice person, but I would definitely not consider buying the single. Her voice makes the song sound a bit boring.

A solid performance, pre-recorded or not but her focus this week was much too much on herself and the boys suffered because of it. Her mentoring skills are weak and she does not have age or experience on her side. Bursting into tears because you let someone down is so so unprofessional and I think as a judge she should go.

She was out of tune and her voice wasn't even average.I have been involved with music for over forty years, and still entertain . during the summer season. It really makes a mockery of the whole show when one of the judges who is supposed to be a "vocalist" cannot sing nearly as well as the contestants she is judging. Yes, she's got a pretty face, but she is far too skinny and she really is a very mediocre singer at best. The vocal performance lacked life, she has no power or depth to her voice - and if it was pre-recorded, that really is very pathetic. It really is very disheartening for talented people who really can sing.
