Britney hits no 1 spot

Britney Spears has topped the US charts for the third time, becoming the first artist in three years to go straight to the top of the Billboard 100.

In the age of reality TV talent contests, she's also the first non-reality star since Lauryn Hill to go direct to the top spot, achieving a feat that hasn't occured since 1998.

They do say good luck comes in threes, so it's even more fitting that Britney has scored a hit with her raunchy new single, 3.

The song, about threesomes, is taken from her forthcoming album The Singles Collection, and is Britney's third number one after Baby One More Time and Womaniser.

Naturally, the video is a saucy number, seeing a back on form Brit grinding provocatively against two male dancers in a black corset and see-through lace leggings.

The singer also dons a flesh-coloured leotard during a dance routine and has opted for a new hair do, sporting fresh blonde hair extensions and a fringe.

In a statement she said: 'I am truly blessed with the greatest fans in the world and I am so happy y'all love it because I do this all for you.'

We can't wait to get our hands on The Singles Collection, which features remixes of all our favourite Britney singles, as well as a secret 'hidden' track.

There's also a deluxe edition for the ultimate Britney fan, including a DVD with all Brit's videos from the past ten years. Now, there's one for the Christmas list.
