Robbie: I was 24 hours from death

Robbie Williams - Bodies

Robbie Williams has revealed more details about his prescription drug addiction, saying, at one point, he may have only had 24 hours to live.

The singer says he used to take a number of different drugs, including Vicodin - the drug that was also found in Michael Jackson's body.

'I would do 20 Vicodin in a night. I was on my way out. I might have been 24 hours away from dying,' he told The Sun.

He also admits the extent of his prescription drug addiction was so bad, he didn't care he was close to death.

'At the time you don't give a sh*t if you pop your clogs. I must have been very, very close.'

In a separate interview with GQ magazine, he says he wouldn't be here if he hadn't gone into rehab.

'I would have died... A heart attack, I think... The left arm was going numb, chest was contracting. That's the sign, isn't it, that you're on your way out?'

Robbie went into rehab in Arizona in 2007 on his 33rd birthday, and says he has been 'really good' recently.

Take That fans will also be delighted to hear Robbie could be rejoining his old bandmates.

'It will happen. But not in the next 18 months, two years,' he says enticingly.

'There's contracts to fulfil. And then I can do what I want.'

Robbie will be performing his new single Bodies live on The X Factor this weekend. He has been offering advice to the 12 finalists this week, ahead of his performance.
