Cheryl: 'I don't trust anybody in life'
Cheryl Cole may appear to have a dream lifestyle - amazing career, stunning looks, supportive friends - but things are never quite what they seem
The Girls Aloud signer admits that rumours over husband Ashley's affairs have made her wary and it it still difficult to trust him.
'I've come to the conclusion that I don't trust anybody in life except my mother and my dogs,' she said candidly during an interview with The Sunday Times.
'I'm scared to let people know how much they mean to me.'
Cheryl has just launched her solo career and is back on our screens as an X Factor judge this winter.
She won the competition last year with Alexandra Burke, but came in for a lot of criticism over her tears and touchy-feely approach.
'This year I think I'll be less [emotionally] involved,' she told the paper. 'I've got the boys and there was something about them being young girls - I felt responsible for them.'
She is also hopeful that her solo career will continue to push her career to new heights.
'It's exciting and scary doing my own stuff. Growing up... I always wanted to be in a band because it's a form of protection being in a little gang.'
But perhaps the 26-year-old's greatest role is yet to come - being a mum.
She confesses, 'Having a baby is important to me because I'm from a big family. I feel like all this that I do is just make-believe and at the end of the make-believe I will always have my family.'
Fingers crossed 2010 brings you everything you want Cheryl!

Cheryl you are absolutely right not to trust easily. You are lucky if you can trust your mother (Ihope my children age 19 and 15 can trust me whatever our differences but I cannot say I can trust my own mother to have my best interests at heart- I am 49 and my mum is 71 so the age of the mum has nothing to do with it if you work out the sums!!
I love my husband dearly and we have been married for 26 years on the 29th October 2009 but I have had to learn to believe in myself and push myself despite his involvement/opinion and go with my self belief and I am a very analitical/not particularly confident person (despite what others may think). Why am I saying all of this even though I am a private person -not sure except if you read this it may help you and help you focus on your marriage at the same time as focus on being true to yourself!!!
