Taking his cue from Forties screen heroines, John Galliano seduced Paris's stylistas with his romantic take on spring/summer 2010 for Christian Dior.

Exploring one of his favourite looks - underwear as outerwear - Mr Galliano's femme fatales, complete with ruby red pouts and cascading locks, came decked in lace-trimmed French knickers, skimpy satin teddies, blush nude corsets and baby doll dresses.

But it wasn't just lingerie in the Dior heroine's wardrobe this spring. Cropped trenches in glittering metallics, scarlet lady show-stopping gowns and shimmering minidresses completed the film noir scene.
