Emma Watson - Harry Potter - Celebrity News - Marie Claire

Emma Watson's attempts to blend into her new university lifestyle were recently thwarted by students from a rival university.

The Harry Potter star went to a college football match between Brown University and rivals Harvard - but became the victim of an organised stalking campaign.

Student newspaper the Harvard Voice posted a blog just before the match, stating they were going to hunt for the 19-year-old actress.

'We will be Live-Tweetin' the game and possibly stalking Emma Watson, so keep your eyes peeled for that, too!' read the post.

During the game, a series of Twitter updates from the Voice revealed the extent of their determination to expose the star.

'Let's go Hermione! Lolz' was quickly followed by, 'In enemy territory. Lookin for a certain witch', and then finally, 'WATSON FOUND. I repeat WATSON FOUND.'

Emma looked 'quite shaken' by the campaign and security guards were called in to protect her from students pushing to catch a glimpse of the actress, says Page Six.

After the match, the Voice posted a picture of Emma - who also models for Burberry - on its website and said the 'mission' had been a 'success'.

But when fellow Harvard students complained about the stalking, the Voice said the whole episode had been blown out of proportion and the live Tweets were 'intentionally outrageous'.

Poor girl! She is genuinely one of very few celebrities who don't go out seeking attention these days, and she should be left alone!

Well she will get noticed whatever..
No way not to be with that cult film background but she is trying to sort her education..fair go...guess just have to pick mates carefully and go with the flow and put up with it..wish her well...seems very nice.

It doesn't sound that bad to be honest, all they did was tweet a bit and take a picture of her. They sensationalised it themselves but I wouldn't call it stalking. Where's the difference in what they did and what the press do regularly? Nothing...except the press charge people money and the rival students havn't.

Why were the students of Harvard so childish?
The fact that paparazzi might do the same is completely immaterial BECAUSE they get paid for it.
The Harvard idiots should gang up to protect a fellow student, irrespective of which University the 'victim' might attend, from this kind of idiotic behaviour.

Oh really. Emma Watson apparently went to study in the USA because she thought she would get less attention than in the UK. WHAT??? Harry Potter is huge in America! At the end of the day, she has to expect that these things will happen. If this is the worst she has to endure in return for being a multimillionaire at the same age as me, then really she does not have that much to complain about. Still love her though!
