Rumblings of a Spice Girls reunion (Part II) grow louder with the news Mel B is putting together plans for a comeback at next year's World Cup.

Scary Spice and husband Stephen Belafonte are said to be working on a scheme for the girls to reunite at a one-off gig in South Africa.

But Victoria Beckham may be missing from the line-up when the group does take to the stage.

'Mel's determined to get the girls back together for the World Cup,' a friend of the Scary one told The Sun.

'She wants them to plough ahead as a foursome if Victoria doesn't want to take part. She's got the others excited by the idea of a one-off appearance. They are very interested.'

The Spice Girls reformed for the first time in 2007 for a world tour, but never made it to South Africa.

So SA fans of Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Haliwell and Victoria should be excited by the news the girls may turn up to support the England team and put on a performance.

Geri let it slip earlier this week that another reunion could be on the cards.

'I'll be honest: we are gathering information about a possibility, but when you are evolving a plan, you don't want to share it with the world,' she said during an interview on This Morning.

But the four bandmates may have to push on without Posh. Her designing career is currently keeping her busy and she has hinted she has no plans to return to a singing career.

'The response I've had to my designs has been mind-blowing. I'm so happy. Life for me is great at the moment,' she says.

Oh go on, Posh - it won't be the same without you! What if the others let you design the costumes?
