Beyoncé branded 'immoral' by Malay muslims

Beyonce - Celebrity News - Marie Claire

Beyoncé Knowles has been branded 'immoral and unclean' by Muslim leaders in Malaysia, after announcing plans to take her world tour to the country.

The Bootylicious singer said on her website she would hold a concert at the stadium in Malaysia's captial, Kuala Lumpur.

But just hours after her announcement, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic party branded Beyoncé 'immoral and unclean' and called for her show to be stopped.

The conservative group said her raunchy routines were 'not suitable for Muslims' and they would be writing to Malaysia's government to protest.

'We oppose the holding of such concerts and we will take action to prevent it,' said a spokesman for the PMIP.

'Her skimpy attire and behaviour onstage are immoral and lead to unclean behaviour,'

The PMIP has previously forced singers Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne to cover up while perfoming.

Beyoncé, 28, was forced to cancel a concert in Malaysia two years ago following protests by Muslim groups.

But she has vowed to go ahead with the planned concert on 25 October.

'Beyoncé has for the first time ever decided to make Malaysia part of her 'I am.' world tour,' it was announced on her website.

The Malay government recently banned Muslims from attending a Black Eyed Peas concert in the capital because it was sponsored by a beer.

Muslims are forbidden to drink alcohol as part of their religious code.
