Why Hollywood's going hopping mad for bunny ears
By Lucy Hutchings on Tuesday 8 September 2009
Once the reserve of hen parties and Playboy models, bunny ears have bizarrely become the hottest A-list accessory of the season - but why?
Blame Marc Jacobs, who was the first to tap the trend, decking models at his Louis Vuitton autumn/winter '09 catwalk show in black chiffon vertiginous ears.
Fast forward three-months, and his favourite new muse, Madonna, hit the Costume Institute Gala red carpet with a turquoise LV headpieces atop her head. With the Material Girl championing the look, Hollywood's hippest weren't slow to follow.
Always keen to tackle the most out-there styling, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen got playful in Maison Michel lace rabbit and mouse ears respectively at a recent event, while songstresses Lady Gaga and Lily Allen have both hopped on the trend in matching net pairs, with face-covering veils.

Mark Jacobs you are a fashion marvel but seriously, bunny ears, I don't think so!

I love it when high fashion designers do quirky stuff like this. It's fun to see who will actually be wearing these looks in the clubs at the weekends.

I made a pair & am wearing to a bday tomorrow night! I think they're wonderful & fun,...one of my favorite movies is Alice in Wonderland, I enjoy whimsy & bizarre ;) ...let's just hope I don't get too many crazy looks for those who don't know what's up!
