Net-a-Porter makes knitting high-fashion

A-listers including Sarah Jessica Parker and Uma Thurman have long been fans of knitting as a way to pass the time on set and now Net-a-Porter have made your granny's hobby even cooler.

Hitting the site now is the first collection from Wool and the Gang.

They're a Paris-based 'knitting collective' founded by ex-model Lisa Sabrier and knitting fanatic Carolyn Main.

Their DIY 'knit-kits' start at £69 - they include colourful yarn, detailed instructions, wooden needles and come with ribbon and patches to complete your creation.

Ready, steady, knit one, purl one...

You could get a similar kit from any habadashery shop for about a tenner!
