Michael Jackson’s doctor’s surgery raided

Police raided the surgery of Michael Jackson’s doctor yesterday in an attempt to uncover evidence to bring manslaughter charges against him.

A group of 25 officers descended on Dr Conrad Murray’s surgery, hunting for Propofol – the restricted use, intravenous anaesthetic drug that is believed to have been administered to the King of Pop before he died.

Autopsy results on the singer surfaced yesterday which revealed the 50-year-old received a ‘potentially lethal’ amount of the anaesthetic, usually only dispensed in hospital.

Murray’s lawyer confirmed to the media that his premises in Houston, Texas were searched by police for ‘evidence of manslaughter’.

According to reports, the officers left the premises after two hours with 21 papers and a copy of a computer hard drive.

Propofol was already discovered at Jacko’s LA mansion after he collapsed on 25 June.

It is believed that prosecutors in the case may decide that whoever administered the drug to Jackson – despite knowing its dangers – should be the one to face manslaughter charges.

The official autopsy results of Jackson’s body will be released next week.

Meanwhile, actor Rupert Everett has added his tuppence-worth to the ongoing Jacko saga.

While Hollywood has witnessed an outpouring of grief for the singer, Everett has stated: ‘I think it was fortuitous that he died. He wouldn’t have managed to do all of them [O2 concerts] and the press would have destroyed him.’

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Everett added: ‘He was a freak. He looked like a character from Shrek. He was black to white minstrel.’
