Who's been voted the ultimate Hollywood beauty?
By Suzannah Ramsdale on Wednesday 11 February 2009
Audrey Hepburn has been voted the ultimate Hollywood beauty, beating the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley and Cameron Diaz.
Angelina Jolie was just pipped to the post by the Breakfast at Tiffany's star, and was followed by Grace Kelly in third place.
And while blondes are traditionally considered more sexy and vivacious, it's the brunette glamazons that dominate the top spots, with Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot being the only fair-haired starlets to make the top ten.
One other point worth a mention, Brad Pitt's ex, Jennifer Aniston, came in 18th place compared to Angie's second - ouch, that's gotta hurt!
See the full list below:
1 Audrey Hepburn
2 Angelina Jolie
3 Grace Kelly
4 Marilyn Monroe
5 Sophia Loren
6 Catherine Zeta-Jones
7 Elizabeth Taylor
8 Keira Knightley
9 Halle Berry
10 Brigitte Bardot
11 Julia Roberts
12 Vivien Leigh
13 Nicole Kidman
14 Cameron Diaz
15 Doris Day
16 Scarlett Johansson

No idea why Angelina got 2nd above Grace, Marilyn, Vivien, Doris, Sophia and Brigitte. They were classic glamour and beautiful, natural elegance and fantastic healthy figures. Audrey is a picture of grace so I can't disagree with her first place.
But Angelina... overrated in my opinion, there are definitely prettier women (one being Jennifer Aniston) than her on that list, by far! And I'd say most of them are the old school glamour ladies, much more beautiful than todays 'A Listers'. Angelina would be lucky to be in the Top 20 in my list.

It would depend on the demographics of the respondents. I doubt that anybody age 20-30 would remember what Ms. Bardot looked like in her heyday, or know who Audrey Hepburn is, as she has disappeared from mainstream medial for many years. Angelina may have a very beautiful face (when she does not bare her teeth), but beauty to me means a lot more than a beautiful face. So no, she would not make it to my top 20.

Actually, Jen, I resent that remark. I'm 20 myself, and as part of the 'demographic' you mentioned, I'd like to say I DO know what Brigitte Bardot looks like, and I HAVE heard of Audrey Hepburn.
In fact, I'd take Audrey and Brigitte over Angelina any day. Halle Berry? No thanks. Give me Grace and Marilyn.
They have an elegance and a charm that today's 'beauties' don't, and I think a lot more people in the 20-30 year old age bracket understand that than perhaps people give them credit for.
Notice how, aside from Angelina, the other 'modern' stars such as Liv Tyler, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Scarlett Johanssen, have a similar class and grace to Audrey and Marilyn? Surely that speaks for itself.

I totally agree with JJ. A large majority of girls my age (20) are very aware of the original beauties such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. I have watched every single Audrey Hepburn movie there is a dozen times and it is down to her that I strive to be classy as opposed to falling about drunk like some stars set as an example.
I think Angelina may have got second place because she is considered "beautiful" by the media. Personally i find Audrey etc much more beautiful. Angelina seems to try too hard to appear as much as a classical beauty as the older stars.
