Christina Aguilera gives Max ‘wild’ first birthday party

Trust Christina Aguilera to see in her son’s first birthday with a ‘wild’ party.

The sassy singer threw little Max a bash inspired by the classic children’s book Where the Wild Things Are at her Beverly Hills home.

The star invited celebrity pals Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, whose daughter Harlow celebrated her first birthday on 11 January.

Forty guests in all joined the celebration  in the backyard, which was decorated with blue, green and pink balloons.

Guests nibbled on kids’ party favourites like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, which, along with a host of other child-friendly foods, were provided by LA caterers Along Came Mary.

But the special treat of the night? Entertainers dressed up as characters from the book.

And there we were thinking we were lucky with Party Rings and dad dressed up as a clown.
