Grey's Anatomy star Kate Walsh to divorce husband

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice star Kate Walsh is divorcing her husband of a year, Alex Young.

Walsh's soon-to-be-ex husband filed for divorce on 22 November, citing irreconcilable differences, but no further details were revealed.

A statement was released following the news which read: 'The couple remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.'

Young, a production co-president at 20th Century Fox, and the 41-year-old Private Practice star married on 1 September last year, following their engagement in May.

In an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, the then newlywed Walsh spoke candidly about her romance: 'There was this kind of funny moment, after we were married and all of the hoopla was over and we were like, 'What do we do now?'

'We're married,' she added. 'Alright, I guess we just live and love and learn from each other.'

Or not, as the case may be.
