Kate treats nanny to Topshop spree
By Lucy Hutchings on Wednesday 10 December 2008
Kate Moss played Santa this week, treating her daughter's nanny to a multi-thousand pound Topshop shopping spree for Christmas.
Spies spotted the supermodel ordering her nanny Mary Davidson – the mum of her close friend Sadie Frost – to 'shop shop shop' as they whipped round the high street store's Oxford Circus flagship store.
Apparently 60-year-old Mary started off looking slightly bewildered, before quickly getting into the swing of things, picking up over £3,000 worth of fabulous fashion, shoes and accessories.
Shocked shoppers looked on as Kate insisted that Mary and a group of friends should 'buy buy buy,' encouragingly shouting, 'Come on girls!'
Kate famously creates her own range for the store, and is close friends with its owner Sir Philip Green. Apparently the retail mogul was so impressed by Moss's generosity that he promptly picked up the bill himself.
The spy adds, 'Kate cleared it with Philip so that she could let her nanny choose whatever she wanted from in store.'
Poor Mary was reportedly heard asking the model, 'But what will I get you for Christmas?' I mean, how do you follow up on a Topshop trolley dash?

Mmmm...a trolley dash where you get a discount...really shows how much she values the person who looks after her child. What she should have done is to take her to Harvey Nichols/Harrods a dash there would have meant something rather than force the woman to wear her clothes.

What exactly would a 60 year old find to wear in Top Shop? I expect Kate was letting her do all her own Xmas shopping rather than actually buying her things to wear. I'm 33 and rarely find anything in TopMan I like these days!

I didn't know Topshop catered for the over-40's! Perhaps I should have another look.
