Hudson brother-in-law arrested

The estranged brother-in-law of Jennifer Hudson has been arrested over the murders of the actress’s mother, brother and nephew.
William Balfour was arrested by Chicago police yesterday, who confirmed: ‘We have obtained an arrest warrant for William Balfour. He was released to Chicago detectives.’
Balfour, 27, who has been held in an Illinois state prison on suspicion of a parole violation for a previous attempted murder conviction, will be charged with three counts of murder.
Balfour is married to Hudson’s sister Julia and was questioned by police after the murders, but not charged.
Police have refused to release details of how the authorities came to charge Balfour for the shootings of Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, brother, Jason Hudson, 29, and seven-year-old nephew, Julian King.
The bodies of both Donerson and Jason Hudson were discovered at the family home by Hudson’s sister, Julia, while her son was found three days later in the backseat of a car. All three had died from gunshot wounds.
Reports have come to light that Julia and Balfour had a tempestuous marriage, marred by arguments over money and suspected infidelities. Balfour had recently been thrown out of the house and made violent threats against Julia and her family.
