Simon: 'She dumped me!'

X Factor guru Simon Cowell says ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour dumped him by text message, rubbishing rumours that he finished with her.

Simon appeared on US chat show Extra with Terri to put the record straight about the end of their relationship.

Asked why the pair had split up, Simon said, 'Because Terri decided to dump me. You sent me a text.'

Terri, 34, denied she had finished with him in such a heartless fashion, but agreed it was her decision to end their relationship.

'I didn't dump you. It was just time,' she insisted. 'We had a great six years, and we're the best of friends.'

Simon, 49, also laughed off rumours that he had given Terri a £5m 'golden goodbye' when they split.

He said, 'That is actually not a true story. If anything I should be getting the money. Rumours come around, there was no £5million, no.'

Despite their break-up, the couple are still close and talk everyday on the phone.

'I do call Terri, first, when I’ve got an issue or I’m moaning about something, or I want to bounce an idea off,' Simon revealed.

Terri has been linked to actor Stephen Dorff since the pair split earlier this summer.
