Mary McCartney's star-studded photographic exhibition

Marie Claire Celebrity News: Kate Hudson, Stella McCartney and Mary McCartney

Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Elle Macpherson last night ensured Mary McCartney's photographic exhibition was a fabulous, A-list affair.



The fashionable friends joined Mary, dad Paul McCartney, his girlfriend Nancy Shevell, and is daughter, designer Stella McCartney, at the Natural History Museum in London for the exhibition of Mary's own photographs.



The event, part of the 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty Festival, was an exhibition by Mary McCartney entitled British Style Observed and included 30 images taken by Mary and deliberately coincided with London Fashion Week, which kicked off on Sunday.



Kate Hudson, who had flown in from LA after attending the premiere of her new movie My Best Friend's Girl, turned heads, as usual, in a metallic jumpsuit and platform T-bar heels, while Elle opted for an LBD, and Gwyneth went quirky in a cropped blazer and knee-length leggings.



Other stars on the guestlist included pop star Jamelia, veteran songstress Lulu, and models Laura Bailey, Erin O'Connor and Jade Parfitt.



The event marked a big step in the relationship between Nancy and Sir Paul, proving that the American has been accepted by the former Beatle's family and, although they didn't pose together outside, the couple happily posed for pics inside the exhibition, which featured photos of Kate Moss with cream crackers and Branston Pickle, Stella riding a horse, Dame Vivienne Westwood and model Lily Cole.



Six of the images were auctioned off to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity with personal importance to Mary after her mother, Linda, died of the disease.



She told the Daily Mail: 'Losing my mother prematurely has had a profound impact on my life in that it has made me appreciate the people around me.



'As a photographer herself, she was my inspiration. I remember looking through her contact sheets as a child and being fascinated. Our styles are similar.'
