Britney Spears and Russell Brand have reportedly enjoyed a romantic candlelit dinner together.

Newly-single Russell is wasting no time in getting back into the dating game, and decided to treat the singer to a romantic rendez-vous at the Little Red Door restaurant in Hollywood, according to the Mirror.

When he told Britney at the MTV Video Music Awards that she'd soon be Mrs Brand, maybe he wasn't kidding after all…

Meanwhile, Britney threw a car and truck-themed joint birthday bash for her boys this weekend; Preston turned 3 on 14 September and Jayden turned 2 on 12 September.

A real family affair, the party, which was held at a friend's house in Beverly Hills, saw Britney's sister Jamie Lynn, with her newborn daughter Maddie Briann, come together with their parents Jamie and Lynne.

The bash also had a celebrity guestlist, with Jenny McCarthy bringing her son, Evan, and Gwen Stefani's son Kingston getting in on the party spirit.

The kids had a great time whizzing around on motorised cars, which were customised Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier.

Even the cake followed the party theme, and came in the shape of a yellow truck.

Cute.
