Keira Knightley wows at The Duchess premiere

Keira Knightley looked every inch the Hollywood star as she hit the red carpet last night for the premiere of her new movie, The Duchess.
The actress literally blew the crowds away in a cobalt dress from the Alexis Mabille Autumn 2008 Couture collection. The pretty black lace detailing added drama to the frock, which she accessorised with Moschino pumps and Chanel jewellery.
Keira's boyfriend, the handsome Rupert Friend, made a rare public appearance with the star, and dutifully colour-co-ordinated his smart suit.
New movie, The Duchess, which co-stars Ralph Fiennes, follows the story of Georgiana Spencer, the Duchess of Devonshire. The Duchess of Devonshire was Diana, Princess of Wales's great-great-great-great aunt. But marketing for the movie has come under fire for drawing parallels with the two ladies' life stories, with critics saying there were not many similarities between their lives, and accusing it of being a cynical marketing ploy to get Diana fans to see the movie.
The trailer for the clip shows a picture of the late Diana juxtaposed with Keira as Georgina, accompanied by the words: 'The two were related by ancestry and united by destiny'.
But Keira has distanced herself from the comparisons, saying: 'I think when I signed on to do this film, I was very much signing on to do a film about Georgiana the Duchess of Devonshire. I can certainly say that for all the people who made the film, we were not trying to draw any parallels between her and Diana.'
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old revealed that getting ready for scenes in the movie were not quite as simple as dressing up is these days, telling the Daily Mail that it took two hours to get into costume. She said: 'I had to be sewn in each time I put a costume on, and carefully unstitched when I took it off. That was what happened in those days, and while the end results would have been a fabulous look, getting there wasn't easy.'
She added: 'The clothes, the wigs and the hats were so heavy that it became painful to stand around. At one point I had to wear a wig that was 2ft high and the weight pushed my head down into my neck. The camera couldn't even see my eyes.

That is one fantastic dress. Beautiful colour. If I were Keira I would never take it off!
