Angelina Jolie post-natal depression?

Angelina Jolie is so tired and stressed after concerns over her newborn twins' health, she could be bordering on post-natal depression, if US reports are to be believed.

The mum-of-six has been holed up in Château Miraval in Provence since the birth of Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, and hasn't been seen, except for on a family photo shoot, since last month.

The American press have their own suggestions about possible problems the Kung Fu Panda star might be experiencing.

The National Enquirer has reported that the babies are suffering with colic, a common condition that causes repeated crying episodes, while insiders told InTouch Weekly that their constant state of distress is sending Angelina in to 'depression mode', prompting speculation that she may be suffering with post-natal depression.

According to the source, Angelina has been trying to control her emotions around her four other children, Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2, but 'her mood swings have been hard on the entire family'.

The source added: 'She has been staying in bed most of the time, all she does is sleep. She has little energy and has to force herself to remember to eat because she is still breastfeeding.

'She cries at the drop of a hat and laughs at inappropriate times. Everyone is hoping she will talk to someone about how she is feeling.'

The source continued to say that Angelina feels Brad has it easy, adding: 'He had the kids without the pain of birth and he can just jet off whenever he feels like it.'

Brad did, in fact, jet off to Italy with sons Pax and Maddox to attend the Venice Film Festival last week, but we can't help but think that he might actually have been doing Angelina a favour by taking some of the pressure off at home.

Also, what woman who's just given birth to twins isn't going to be tired out, especially when there are four other children to look after? We're sure tough-cookie Angelina is doing just fine…

I love Angelina Jolie but I have to say - she did it too soon and it is tough even with lots of help at home.

Exactly give her a break! She's just given birth to not one but two babies at the same time. I feel exhausted just thinking about it. Let's face it if you could afford to stay abroad in peace to bond with your babies and to rest after the birth as well then wouldn't you?

This woman is a joke to begin with. She would never admit she is depressed, even if it is common. Brooke Shields is a better mother. She is a better person too and is not as into promoting herself.

Maybe she is staying at home bonding with her babies and getting used to dealing with twins. People are too quick to think the worst.

No, it's not post partum depression, it's post partum REALITY. Raising kids is hard work, Raising FIVE -- even harder. She's just got a bad case of REALITY, that's all.

Being a mother of twins myself, I can understand how Angelina is feeling extremely exhausted. I remember very little of my twins' first six months due to the constant cycle of breastfeeding, sleeping, changing the babies, trying to catch some sleep. I do wish the press would give celebrities a break - of course she's bound to be exhausted and teary.
